Newton Fisher Group provides tailored Quantity Surveying services for clients and projects in Sydney and NSW.

We serve Developers, Property Owners, Banks, Institutions, Authorities, Building and Civil Engineering Companies in property development endeavours across 5 sectors. Our services span all stages of the property development lifecycle.

Established in 1971 our mission has always been to tailor Quantity Surveying services to fit the needs of clients and projects. We highly value client relationships and customer service in order to achieve this. To this day we remain privately-owned and family-run.

People

Steven Bregovic

Steven is a degree qualified Quantity Surveyor having obtained a Bachelor of Construction Management and Property, Majoring in Quantity Surveying with Honours from the University of New South Wales.

Steven has been a member of the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors and Chartered Institute of Building for over 10 years. Steven has previously held the position of Centre Chair between 2014 – 2017 for the NSW Chapter and recently represented Australasia at the Chartered Institute of Buildings (CIOB) Members Forum.

Steven brings over 18 years of construction experience having worked for an International Quantity Surveying firm prior to joining Newton Fisher. Steven’s experience includes master-planning, feasibility estimates, cost planning, value management, tender negotiation, progress claim & variation assessments, financial reporting and preparation of final accounts.

In addition to this Steven has successfully represented clients as an expert witness on a range of construction projects and is currently providing a Superintendents role on a mixed use residential project.

Steven’s vast previous project experience coupled with an on-site upbringing has equipped him with skills not typically seen with most tradition office based Quantity Surveyors. He is often able to quickly analyse projects and offer Value Engineering and delivery solutions typically offered by builders.

Steven’s philosophy as a Director is to always keep his finger on the pulse and will often personally run projects to provide a level of service unrivalled by many other practices. In addition to this he is supported by a highly skilled office which he personally mentors.

Michelle Chan

Michelle has a Bachelor of Science degree in Quantity Surveying completed with Honours. She has been a member of the Royal Institution of Quantity Surveyors since 2009 and member of the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors for over 10 years.

Quantity surveyor with over fifteen years solid experience in healthcare, residential, retail, commercial, industrial, hospitality, infrastructure, port, railway, building services sectors in Australia, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. Conversant with commercial aspects of cost planning, cost management and cost control procedures.

Michelle’s key responsibilities include an outline of project budget to assist in decisions making about the viability of the project in whole, preparation of cost plans on multiple design stages, project procurement advice, key cost drivers, maintain client’s expectation on a transition of pre- contract through to post contract quantity surveying advice, bank reports and post contract cost control.

In addition to the above services Michelle has provided advice acting as an expert witness and assisting with dispute resolution.

Joe Bergin

Joe brings over 16 years of construction experience and having worked in both Ireland and Australia, he has attained worldwide experience in all aspects of Quantity Surveying. Joe’s experience includes master-planning, feasibility estimates, cost planning, value management, tender negotiation, progress claim & variation assessments, financial reporting and preparation of final accounts. In addition to this Joe has provided project and development management services on a select number of projects.
Joe is a Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, having achieved chartership in 2011.

Joe’s philosophy and intent as an Associate Director is to always retain a ‘hands-on’ involvement in projects and will often personally run projects to provide a level of service unrivalled by the majority other practices. This is coupled with an analytical style and a results-driven approach to problem solving.
